What cookies are and why we also talk about local storage
A cookie is a small file that a website saves in your browser to remember something. Local storage (localStorage) does the same thing by another route. The law treats them the same way: Article 22(2) of Spain's LSSI-CE requires us to inform you and ask for your consent before using them, unless they are strictly necessary for the service you request.
The AEPD guide on the use of cookies (in Spanish), in the version updated in May 2024, applies those rules to any device that stores and retrieves data, not just classic cookies. That's why the table also lists what we keep in local storage.

Everything this website uses, one by one
<container-id> is the identifier of our Analytics property. The Analytics cookie durations are the defaults documented by Google; if you delete the cookies, they disappear sooner.
We don't use advertising cookies or social media plugins. The links to YouTube, Instagram or Discord are ordinary links: they load nothing from those platforms until you click them.

How consent works
The first time you visit, a banner appears with two buttons of the same size, side by side: Accept and Reject. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the website works the same whichever you choose.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics starts with analytics storage denied, using Google's consent mode (version 2), and only switches on if you press Accept. Outside those regions it may be active from the first page; the banner still appears and you can reject it.
With analytics denied, Google Analytics does not read or write cookies in your browser. According to Google's consent mode documentation, its tag may still send cookieless pings, with technical data such as your browser, screen resolution or IP address, which Google uses to estimate statistics in aggregate.
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name ca-consent. It is a preference you choose yourself and it serves only that purpose, so under the AEPD guide's criteria for user-chosen preferences it is exempt from consent.

Changing your mind or withdrawing consent
- 01
Open the banner
Click “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page and the banner will appear again.
- 02
Choose again
Press Reject to withdraw your consent or Accept to give it. The change applies immediately.
- 03
Clear what's left
Rejecting stops Google Analytics from reading or writing its cookies, but any that already exist stay in your browser until they expire. If you want them gone now, delete them in your browser settings using the links further down.
Withdrawing consent does not affect what was measured while it was given. Your rights over that data are explained in the privacy policy.

YouTube videos: nothing until you press play
Videos are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Before you press play you only see a thumbnail hosted on our server: neither the player nor any YouTube code is loaded.
When you press play, we load the player because you asked us to. From then on, YouTube may use cookies or local storage in your browser under its own responsibility and in line with Google's Privacy Policy. Google explains in its help page on embedded videos that, in this mode, your viewing is not used to personalize your YouTube experience or the ads you see outside this website.

More information and changes
International transfers, retention periods and how to exercise your rights are covered in the privacy policy; the owner's details are in the legal notice. If anything the website uses changes, we will update this table beforehand and, if needed, ask for your consent again.
