Privacy Policy

The short version#

This policy explains what personal data MyFinanceBoost collects when you visit myfinanceboost.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language; where the law calls for precise terms, we use them.

In brief: we collect very little directly, we use cookies and third-party services — including Google AdSense and analytics — that may process data to show ads and understand traffic, and you can control much of this through your browser and the opt-out links below. What we collect#

We keep direct data collection to a minimum. You do not need an account to read the site, and we never ask for financial account details.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not send us account numbers or other sensitive financial details by email.

• Information you give us: if you email us or submit a form, we receive your address and whatever you choose to write.
• Automatically collected technical data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, and the pages you view.
• Cookies and similar technologies: small files and identifiers stored on your device, described in the next section.

Cookies and similar technologies#

Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device so it can remember things between pages and visits. Similar technologies include pixels, local storage, and device identifiers. We and our partners use them for a few distinct purposes.

Most browsers let you see, block, or delete cookies in their settings, and many regions require a consent banner for non-essential cookies where you can accept or decline. Blocking some cookies may change how parts of the site work.

• Essential: keeping the site working — security, load balancing, and remembering basic preferences such as language.
• Analytics: understanding, in aggregate, which pages are read and how the site performs, so we can improve it.
• Advertising: letting partners such as Google select and measure the ads you see.

Advertising, Google AdSense, and personalised ads#

MyFinanceBoost carries display advertising, served primarily through Google AdSense. This section covers how that affects your data, because it is where most third-party processing happens.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet. These are sometimes called personalised or interest-based ads.

You are in control of this. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can review or opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalisation through industry pages run by the Digital Advertising Alliance and, in Europe, Your Online Choices. Opting out does not remove ads; it means the ads you see are less tailored to you.

• Your browser's cookie controls — block or delete advertising cookies directly.

Analytics#

We use analytics tools to understand how the site is used — which guides are read, how people arrive, and where the experience falls short — so we can decide what to write and what to fix. This data is examined in aggregate to spot patterns, not to build a profile of you as an individual.

Analytics providers may set their own cookies and process technical data such as your IP address (often truncated or anonymised) as part of delivering the service. You can limit analytics through your browser settings and the cookie controls described above.

Third-party links and services#

Our content links out to other websites — regulators, providers, tools, and sources. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's property, governed by their privacy policy rather than ours. We choose links with care but cannot control or take responsibility for how other sites handle your data, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Children's privacy#

MyFinanceBoost is written for adults making decisions about their own money and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16, or the minimum age set by your local law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at hello@myfinanceboost.com and we will delete it.

Your rights and how to exercise them#

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. Under the EU and UK GDPR these include the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and the right to data portability. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) they include the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money.

You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority if you believe we have mishandled your data.

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page and highlight any significant changes.
